This document describes the steps to perform a release of GIMIAS version X.Y.Z.

  1. Create SNV branch
    1. Release candidate:
    2. Stable release: All gimias 1.4.1, 1.4.2, should be binary compatible.
    3. Update SVN externals to point to stable release of Toolkit and third Parties
    4. Update permissions accessing SVN server
  2. Version
    1. Update the Version number. Modify value of `m_KernelVersion` inside `Settings::Settings( )` constructor of LCore library in the file coreSettings.cxx. BR
this->m_KernelVersion = "vX.Y.Z";
    1. Change coreVersion.h
    2. Updateresource/local.xml with last version numbers
    3. Check that the `license.txt`, `Authors.txt` and `ReleaseNotes.txt` are up to date.
  1. Test
    1. Check that all tests are passed: \\\new_nas\Sections\SSD\Projects\GIMIAS\Testing
    2. Check everything is compiling in all platforms: Win32 2008, Win64 2008, Win32 2003, Linux. You can use CDash:
  2. Build executables
    1. Build GIMIAS as described in the GimiasBuilding page (compiling in `Release` mode).
    2. Compile aditional plugins: DICOMExtension, Unicore
    3. Build tpExtLibWebUpdate application
    4. Set GIMIAS icon using ResourceHacker
    5. Start GIMIAS to check missing DLLs
  3. SVN
    1. Update SVN folders to !ReadOnly
  4. Web Site:
    1. Add a new Download page with all the information: Binaries, SVN URL, ...
  5. Create Installer:
    1. Create Binary folder (you can use the batch file \\\cilab_developers\Projects\GIMIAS\Prog\!BuildRelease.bat).
    2. Create the Install File using InstallJammer.
    3. Check if new folders/files appeared compared to the previous version
    4. Check Installer in a Windows 7 OS for permissions problems in Program Files folder
    5. Add vc_redist86.exe to the files
    6. Copy it to `\\\new_nas\shared_all\software_installers\WindowsXP\GIMIAS`
    7. Generate a pacakge for automatic updates: remove wx*.dll, rename _tpExtLibWebUpdateAppApplications_webapp.exe, compress all files in the folder
  6. SourceForge
    1. Put the new version on sourceForge: Installers, !DoxyGen, !SourceCode, Manual, !NewFeatures
    2. Copy CSnake and !StartNewModule applications
  7. DoxyGen
    1. Generate Doxygen documentation of the source code by launching the Doxygen wizard with the `cilabResources\documentation\DoxygenRoot\gimias.doxy` file and modifying the version number and the name of the generated file with the current version number.
    2. Transfer Doxygen Documentation to Web Site
  8. Dissemination:
